Section 301 Tariff Update - October 15th Increase Delayed

After two days of meetings, President Trump has announced he is pleased with the direction negotiations are heading. In a show of faith, President Trump has advised he will further delay the increase from 25% to 30% for all China imports. The president advises the deal reached Friday is the first phase in trade negotiations with China.

The Trump Administration is pushing to have the trade deal in writing within 5 weeks. However, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer advised this "phase one" deal will not affect the 15% increase set to go into effect on December 15, 2019.
