Update on Timing for Effective Date of Additional Duties on Chinese Goods

Important Update to List 3 Tariff Increase Schedule
On May 31, the U.S. Trade Representative's Office (USTR) announced a change in deadline for goods subject to Section 301, List 3. This change extends the amount of time for importers to enter certain Chinese products before the goods will be subject to an additional tariff increase from 10% to 25%.

  • Goods exported to the U.S. prior to May 10 AND entered for consumption on or before June 14will remain subject to an additional 10% tariff.

  • Goods exported to the U.S. prior to May 10 AND entered for consumption on June 15 or afterwill be subject to an additional 25% tariff (previously, the deadline to enter goods was June 1).

  • Goods exported on May 10 or after will remain subject to an additional 25% tariff.

CBP is allowing updates to be made to affected entries that were filed prior to this announcement, once ACE is updated to reflect this change.
